Viva Las Vegas

After a horrific first journey on a Greyhound Abby and I finally arrived in Las Vegas!! ๐Ÿค‘

Our first couple of days were spent exploring the Fremont Experience and the Las Vegas Strip. The Fremont Experience is like downtown Las Vegas’ version of the strip. It’s full of casinos, souvenir shops, tattoo places, restaurants, and bars. We’ve had a few nice walks along here, sampling the food (Nacho Daddy was amazing ๐Ÿ˜‹), buying souvenirs and gifts, trying out the drinks (we had these great alcoholic slushies!), and avoiding eye contact with the photo people. On one of our days we got chatting with some guys who, strangely enough, were from Milton Keynes and we were given some mardi grais style beads from the Chippendale boys, so we were feeling pretty happy ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผ During one of our other visits to the Fremont Experience Abby went down the Zipwire down the street. I was too freaked to try this but Abz certainly seemed to have fun!!

When we went our trip to the strip we were amazing by how grand everything is! Caesars Palace and the Bellagio were completely overwhelming! They both had loads of shops inside them, as well as the casinos and hotels themselves, and Caesars was even styled to look like the streets of Greece. The Bellagio also had a beautiful garden inside it, which at the moment is decorated for Chinese New Year! However the best part of the Bellagio was of course the Bellagio fountains. Abby and I were very excited to these as we are both big fans of Oceans 11, we are already planning to head back on evening to recreate that iconic scene. While on the strip we also popped over to Paris and saw the Eiffel Tower and the  Arc de Triomphe (who knew they were so close?!). We’re planning on heading back to the strip later this week to explore the other half and visit the Las Vegas sign!

Today has been quite an exciting day as well, possibly the most exciting so far! Today we went to the Grand Canyon, and trust me grand doesn’t even scrap the surface! Looking out over the Grand Canyon was absolutely breathtaking! The sight was indescribable (luckily we took loads of photos!) Even though we did start off the day a little grumpy because of our early start (5am?! ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜ด), we now know it was definitely worth it! Our drive to the Grand Camyon took us along a beautiful scenic route and down part of the historic Route 66 (so cool!) When we got to the Canyon we were able to walk along two separate parts, have a wonder around the rim, and see a few of the lodges that have been built in the park. The whole day has been amazing, I’ve never seen anything so incredible!

That’s all for now, talk to you again soon!

Happy Galentines Day Everybody! ๐Ÿ˜˜
