Sup guys, I’m back!! Abs and I have been hanging around the parks at Universal for the past two days, and it’s been a lot of fun!! We’ve been on loads of amazing rides, and been to so many different “lands” it’s be crazy!
Day one was spent in Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Here we travelled from the world of Dr Seuss, to the Lost Continent, to Hogsmeade and Hogwarts, back in time to Jurassic Park, on to Toon Lagoon, over to Skull Island, and ended up in Marvel Super Hero island. This day was absolutely brilliant, we road dragons and a Hippogriff, flew around with Harry, Rom, and Hermione, roamed around Hogmead, saw dinosaurs and King Kong, helped save Poseidon, cheered on Sinbad, hung out with Spider-Man and the Hulk, and got absolutely drechned (not so fun!)! Abby and I had a bit of a fan girl moment when we walked about the wizarding world and the Jurrassic Park centre (mostly me here!!). As most of you know we’re both keenos when it comes to Harry Potter so it was so much fun walking around all the shops (where I finally picked up a chocolate frog!!), flying around Hogwarts, and gong on the rides! For all of you who love Potter just as much as us (you know who you are) this is a must do!! Jurassic Park was also pretty amazing, I was so excited the whole time! They did an amazing job recreating the discovery centre and theentrance, they had lots of props around, and we were both able to get an official Jurassic Park top 😍! They only downside was that the main ride was closed down for maintenance 😔 but it’s ok I’ll just come back again 😉! After roaming around Jurassic Park we headed over to Skull Island so we could go on the King Kong ride. This was great fun because it was our first 3D ride of the day. I hadn’t realised just how intense 3D could be until that ride, it really added to the whole experience! After Kong we went onto the Lagoon for the water rides, these were a right laugh but we both ended up drenched from the first ride!! This meant that we had to stand around for ages trying to dry off, and we ended up buying new clothes!! Once we were nice and dry though we headed over to the land of superheroes and went on the Hulk, Storm, and Spider-Man rides. Each of these were a different experience but still great fun!! The Hulk was mega intense, Storm was just a right laugh, and Spider-Man was so life like!! Once we’d funded these we decided to calm things down with theSinbad stunt show and a “walking tour” with Poseidon. Overall all it was an amazing day, and an experience I’d definitely recommend!
Day two was spent at the Universal Studios, although we stared off in the Islands of Adverntures so we could ride over on the Hogwarts Express?!? 🚂 Once we arrived at Kingscross Station we headed down the streets of London and entered Diagon Alley. This was just as amazing as Hogsmead! We got to walk around Weasleys Wizzard Wheezes, pop down Knockturn Alley, go into Madam Malkins, see Olivanders (the queue was to long for us!!) and The Leaky Caldron, and fly around Grigotts trying to escape!! It was all amazing, and I again I would definitely recommend it!! After our visit to Diagon Alley we went and trained with the Men In Black, were saved by The Simpsons, we helped E.T get home, we hung out with Scooby-Doo and Daphne, saw Doc Brown and his time machine from Back to the Future, and we saw Shrek save Fiona in 4D!!! This was all very exciting and it helped us work up the nerve to go on the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit! This was an absolutely terifying rollercoaster, even Abs wasn’t too keen, mainly because you weren’t strapped in over your shoulders just around your waste so it felt like you’d fall out!! 😱🎢 We did manage to survive it though and would probabaly have gone on again if it hadn’t given us both a headache!! Instead we headed over to the Tonight Show shop and discovered that we could go on a soft run of the new Jimmy Fallon ride that opens in April!! We picked up our tickets for this and then killed some time by popping onto the 3D Transformers ride, which was great!! And we had wander around fake New York before heading back to the Tonight Show. The whole experience was so cool! You weren’t waiting in a line for ages because you had colour coded tickets, so instead they provided you with clips of the show, games, hashtag the panda (so cute!!), and the barbershop quartet from the show, it was brilliant! The ride itself was also pretty fun, it was a 3D race through New York with Jimmy!! After this we went on the Mummy ride which was brilliant, it was so good we went on twice!! I would definitely recommend this one!! And then we finished the day off by having a walk around fake San Fran and popping into the worlds largest Hard Rock Cafe before we headed back to our shuttle.
Overall Universal was pretty amazing! If you ever get the chance you should definitely go! A word of warning however, be prepared to get wet! I’m not just talking about Toon Lagoon (although do bring a swimsuit!!) but almost every other ride as well! Apparently it’s a thing in America to just add spurts of water to rides without any warning!?!
We’re back at Disney today to go on our fave ride and pick up some souvenirs so I’ll be back with an update soon!
